Decent hotel, with the potential to be very good.
I liked my stay here but it has the potential to be so much better. Appreciate this is an old property, but that doesn't excuse upkeep.
The room I booked is called Deluxe Suite and if you are going to call it that then you can't have the negatives below.
Negatives:
The internal pipes of the Jacuzzi bath wasn't cleaned, so when it was turned on it spewed dirt out.
Mattress needs replacing, it is a cheap coil one that has seen better days and i'm glad I didn't stay longer than one day.
The secondary screen over the window that shelters the room from sound had a missing panel, and being beside the M6 and the event space, you need it!
Positives:
Huge room, it's one of those old buildings that has plenty of character.
Restaurant was very good, the evening dinner and breakfast were both excellent.
Overall, I would come back and give it another try but I feel at a minimum they must look to change the mattress.
