Before checking in, I visited the hotel front desk to request if they could hold our luggage for us. As my English is not very strong, I had previously sent an email to the hotel. In it, I explained that I would like to leave our luggage before check-in, and that I had reserved two rooms under my name – one for myself, and one for two friends. The hotel kindly replied to my email confirming this was no problem.
However, upon arriving at the hotel and trying to explain our request in person, the staff member we encountered responded with smirks and a dismissive attitude. It wasn't just me who felt this way; my two friends who were with me also witnessed the interaction and found the staff member's behavior unpleasant. I'm quite sure it wasn't a misunderstanding on my part – the staff member's conduct was definitely inappropriate.
If the hotel expects all guests to be fluent in English, they should clearly state this on their booking page.
Aside from this one staff member, the rest of the hotel staff were perfectly fine. The hotel itself was conveniently located, clean, and reasonably priced – a good hotel overall, except for this unfortunate incident.
