The resort barely qualifies as a resort. The rooms were cold and damp throughout the entire stay, with no hot water available in any of them. To make things worse, the water coming out of the sinks was rusty and brown. We had to change rooms several times during our week-long stay due to these issues. The poolside bar, which only stays open until 5 pm, served just one type of beer that tasted watered down. The location is isolated, surrounded by jungle, and a car is essential to get anywhere.
That said, the staff were fantastic, with Hernán standing out for his exceptional service. The food was surprisingly good, with beautiful, fine dining presentation that added a positive touch to an otherwise disappointing experience.
