This was an amazing night stopover during a more extended family vacation in the Smokies. The lodge's room was spotless and comfortable, with a view of the Applichatian hills. The staff was kind, outgoing, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area.
My wife and I's only setback was the breakfast. We had high expectations for a unique meal. Placing a tab on the website with the different menus for each day and season would be beneficial.
We did not see any menus online or accessible through the website, so we hoped the meal would be more unique than a small generic offering. Even then, the meal was lukewarm at best when it was served.
The State Park was beautiful, and the visit was definitely worth it. If the lodge and park incorporate a more decorative theme throughout the whole park, this could be a picture-perfect Hallmark-like get-a-way. The State Park could capitalize on it during the so-called "off-season."
