This is our second time staying at this hotel. The first time was amazing but we can see that was purely down to Keith being on reception last time and helping us. Checking in was fine but it was the constant acknowledgement from who I can only assume was the supervisor/ manager which was off putting for us. Some guests may like that interaction every time they walk past reception but we don’t. We don’t want to feel as though someone is watching everything we do, bringing bags in, getting food etc. we like to be left alone after checking in especially after a long journey on the road. What was most disappointing however was the housekeeping. Last time we stayed we changed our own towels which was fine, we didn’t need our entire room cleaned so i had no problem getting my own towels from the trolley. There was no cleaners around at all last time we stayed but as it was our first time, I didn’t think anything of it. This most recent stay however was not good. The trolley with the clean towels wasn’t restocked all day. I had to keep walking around trying to find someone and saw guests waiting at reception around 4pm with bath towels in their hands clearly experiencing the same issue. Really bad housekeeping for this hotel.
