Upon arrival the front desk receptionist told me that I had a room with 1 bed and no breakfast included. I became immediately stressed and had to show proof of my booking to confirm that I had actually paid more to have a room with 2 separate beds and breakfast included. She walked away, returned and told me “we have given you a free upgrade”!.. how was this a free upgrade when I had in fact already paid extra for this? Whenever we called the hotel services, (i.e. room service or housekeeping), the phone was never answered. We would then call the front desk, but still nothing was done. Only the cleaning crew and the staff on the doors were actually polite, respectful and extremely helpful. The breakfast menu was extremely disappointing. We had booked Movenpick based on our previous experience at Dubai Movenpick - this was a mistake!! This Movenpick that we stayed at in Corniche Doha did not have Movenpick ice cream!! When we asked the front desk for Movenpick ice cream, he was confused and he asked us what Movenpick ice cream was!!.. he then called through the restaurant and they confirmed they do not serve Movenpick ice cream!
When checking out, the man on the front desk asked if we enjoyed our stay.. I didn’t know how to respond, so I stopped to think, in the meantime, he mumbled to front desk woman beside him in Hindi “these are the free upgrade lot yes?”.. to which she then replied in Hindi “yeah it is” this was rude and out of order!!
We walked away in disbelief!!!
