Avoid this Inn at all costs! The Staff is the rudest most disrespectful we have encountered! We understand staffing is hard but if you work in hospitality the basic fundamental rule is customer service? When a customer speaks… you don’t. When a customer runs into an issue… you do everything you can to be empathetic and kind. We both work customer service for a living and would never treat someone like this over such a small amount!
The GM of this hotel is not only the worst we’ve encountered but the least educated. It’s sad that a business is so desperate for staff the put someone hardly qualified to cashier at a dollar store in front of the customer experience.
We booked on This website and the hotel was marketed as 19miles from our preferred city. No where did it say that during the week we were planned to stay the main road to the hotel would be closed leading to a 3.5 hour drive to the Inn not 30 minutes. We couldn’t drive that far so we had to cancel the reservation and pay top dollar for an alternative hotel.
This is where the Gateway should have stepped up and offered a refund but instead we were laughed at with ZERO apology offered, no accountability but rude “we can’t teach people to read” comments. We were talked over and hung up on three times and told this happens all the time it’s not their problem.
It will cost the hotel more in removing the bad reviews we will leave everywhere than it would to simply refund our one night. Sad small business don’t care
