We arrived around 10 p.m. to check in, only to discover our room was not ready. When I opened the door, there was woman already inside. We startled each other, and she told me I definitely did not want to go in there and this room would not be accessible. We were then reassigned to another room. However, when the elevator doors opened, we were met with a pit bull in the hallway and an overwhelming smell of smoke that reeked of skunk. The smoke detectors had been dismantled, with wires hanging from the walls, an alarming safety hazard. At that point, I simply placed our room keys on the front desk. The receptionist, who was very kind and professional, immediately understood why we could not stay. As a parent with three children, there was no way I could expose them to such unsafe and unsettling conditions. This experience was unacceptable and deeply concerning.

Hotel needs to be renovated

The property is outdated. It is kind of run down and dirty. The room was ok and the bedding was clean, but the A/C blows directly on one of the beds. The net is that the condition of this property does damage to the Wyndham brand! It is time to put money into that property and renovate it!!!

Needs a complete remodel & overhaul.

Certain parts smelled of weed. Staff weren't dressed very professional (Most wore normal everyday t-shirts). The 1 morning we were there, their oven was broken. Sign only said "Sorry oven broken". Not a pleasant start of the day when we were there to move our daughter to college. I didnt take a picture but there was a unopened can of sliced beets on the table near the elevator along with a small closed disposal coffee cup. The door to our room (#227) had to be shoved to open with a shoulder due to either misalignment, poor too much paint. Also in our rm, 1 of the sheer curtains had multiple big holes in it. I could fit my arm thru 2 of them. We arrived after 7pm, so didn't get to experience the pool but could tell the bottom needed resurfaced as the paint was peeling.

There was no one at the check-in desk when I arrived, but it was very late. I used the phone on the desk and press zero like with instructed. It rang and rang and rang and rang. No one ever pick up. I went to the back office to see if there was somebody back there asleep, maybe. There was not. After about five minutes, my son came in to check on me. I was still dialing zero and no one was answering. He went into the back office as well to check to see if there was somebody. A worker finally came after about 10 minutes. She rudely came over and slammed the phone down and said a derogatory remark about people not knowing how to use the phone. I do know how to use a phone. I did follow the instructions and no one answered. She went in the back office as my son was exiting and begin yelling at him. She was extremely rude to him. She was in the process of checking us in and another woman came and stood at the counter For a good 2 to 3 minutes. I thought she was just another guest. She then announced herself to me as the general manager I said OK. My son was in the back office trying to help me get somebody to check me in. She became extremely rude with us And said that we had to leave that she was going to cancel our reservation with no money back. She eventually agreed to let me stay the night. I will never go back to the branch of hotel in particular the one is Stillwater.

Tired property

First room, the toilet would not work and the room had a terrible odor. The staff was extremely accommodating and moved us to another room. It was better but not great. First room was not updated, but had new climate control system. Second room had been updated, but it had the OLD outside A/C system which could not keep up and rendered the room uncomfortable. The front desk staff was pleasant but they are hamstrung with an old holidome-looking property that is neither updated nor particularly clean.

The room was not clean (bathroom) and when moved to a different floor it smelled horrible. Had them clean the bathroom and then moved back to original room . Still had to go ask for clean towels because they didn’t change them out and they were wet. Both rooms I rented had food left in refrigerators. Checked out a day early.

Staff was friendly. Room was fine. No vent fan in bathroom. Shower head holder was not working properly. Had maintenance check it. Still was a problem. Asked for room cleaning after the second day…never came.

I’m afraid we can’t give this hotel a good rating, despite the obviously hard working people employed there. Non-working restrooms in lobby with actual feces and maggots in the bowls should not be something guests encounter, I don’t think. The door to our room was broken. The whole 4th floor reeked of weed. Breakfast was lacking, but that is personally forgivable. Open containers of milk and juice in mini fridge were a bit disconcerting. Beds were clean and employees were personable but we won’t stay there again. Too icky.
