We stayed for six nights, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
The air conditioning in our room was broken for the first three nights, which was uncomfortable, especially in the heat. On the fourth night, things got even worse, several of our valuable items were stolen from our room. This included my husband’s expensive watch, which he had hidden in his suitcase, a designer purse and wallet, and a brand new pair of designer sunglasses.
We later found out that multiple staff members had been in our room that day to check the air conditioning. Had we been informed about this in advance, we absolutely would have taken extra precautions.
When we reported the theft, we were told that the hotel trusts their staff,which may be true, but that didn’t change the fact that our belongings were gone. We had let our guard down, thinking we were staying in a safe, reputable hotel.
What really added to our frustration was how the situation was handled. It felt like the staff were more concerned with keeping the incident quiet than actually helping us or taking responsibility. There was no real apology or sense of accountability for the fact that so many people had been in our room without our knowledge.
One of the managers told me to go out and enjoy the day and that “it’s only stuff, a few weeks you’ll forget about it.” That response was incredibly dismissive and left us feeling unsupported.
They did offer us a free dinner, which we appreciated, but it didn’t come close to m
