たまたまかも知れないが、エレベータが使えなかった。荷物を３階まで運ぶのはホテルのサービスがあったが、階段を使うのは年寄りにはたいへんだった。駐車場がないのが不便。近くの駐車場を案内してくれるが、分かりにくい。

Reasonable standard but common ares are a little tired and could do with some TLC. Staff were very helpful. We did not eat in hotel but plenty of choice of places to eat close by. Dick Turpin’s grave is behind the hotel.

Good location to get to all parts of the city to visit places of interest, shopping and food and drink options. Hotel clean and comfortable, staff friendly. Breakfast option was expensive so eat out at a cheaper establishment nearby.

One cold & noisy night!
We stayed in a twin room No 105.. on Friday 7th Feb for one night.. had it been more nights i would need to move rooms..due to noise, draft and cold.. First impressions was ok, but cleanliness / deep cleaning was poor / lacking.. skirting boards were dirty, orange juice spilled down wall from previous guest.. bathroom needs a lick of paint etc.. The beds are very bouncy and soft, not very comfy for me. The one heater in the room was ok but as the inadequate windows let a really bad draft/cold in it really could not warm the toom well.. secondary glazing is required!! And this would help the horrendous noise from the multitude of air con unit fans sat outside the window... They dont stop running so offer a horrible humming noise All Night! We tried to block out the noise and cold draft from the window with the heavy curtains but didnt help.. We didnt do breakfast, as wanted to eat out, so room cost £99 for a cold & noisy night.. advised reception of its problems on check out.. their reply was we will log it!! My advice to the hotel us, if a room receives a complaint a manager should go sleep in it for one night and test it out!! We wont return.. sorry! (Wont let me add photos)

Standard hotel, horrific noise from outside units
Typical Holiday Inn with a great location, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by the noise. I booked three rooms, all next to each other, with room 108 being in the middle. The issue was that the air conditioning units outside our windows were incredibly loud—impossible to sleep through. I raised the issue with the hotel, and they were helpful in moving us, but the only available option was a room on the 5th floor directly above the original rooms. The noise was still noticeable, though slightly better. The hotel provided earplugs, but they didn’t help much. The staff were excellent and accommodating, but I strongly recommend checking whether your room is near the air conditioning units before booking. If you’re offered a room near them, ask to be moved immediately.

Wheelchair user.
Lovely hotel, really easy check in. I’m a wheelchair user the lift is a little tight for a larger wheelchair and another person but doable, just. They didn’t have a wheelchair accessible room for 3. But the room we stayed in was large and I was able to get in with my chair. The bathroom wasn’t big enough to get my chair in . The hotel was clean, smells lovely, room was clean apart from mould on the nets.

Disappointing stay
Very disappointing stay. I will start with the good points, unfortunately there aren’t many. Location is good, just a short walk into York. The reception area is modern and clean. Breakfast was ok but cold. Now to the bad points. If you are considering dinner at this hotel… don’t! it was appalling, food cold, tasteless and inedible after waiting over an hour to eat. There is no restaurant and you are expected to eat in the lobby in completely inappropriate seating in the cold. Service was poor had to ask twice for drinks. Check in was mediocre although the staff are polite, they don’t seem experienced or able to offer anything other than handing over room keys. Rooms are tiny if you have booked the family room. Which is double bed plus sofa bed. However, when sofa bed pulled out there was no room to walk around any of the beds, instead having to get in from the end and not side on. Room was not clean, dirty loo and waste left under bed. No bath towels left in room only hand towels. Poor experience overall.

Nice staff, not worth the cost though.
Upon checking in the language barrier was very evident, however the receptionist was very pleasant. We were on the 5th floor with no working lift and heavy bags. This was less than ideal and we were not offered a room closer to the ground floor, we were just expected to walk up many flights of stairs with heavy bags. It was very cold and upon turning the electric radiators on and aircon, the room filled with an overpowering smell of plburnjng dust, which triggered my asthma which meant no sleep for me, just fighting for breath all night. There was a screaming baby next door and this aided our discovery on how incredibly thin the walls are. Honestly it was not worth the money we paid for the night, but the staff were nice people and location very convenient, also no onsite parking, instead a tiny pay and display public car park which took over an hour to get a parking spot in. Not suitable for disabled, or people who cant walk very well, particulary in winter months when its daro so early and can be icy underfoot.
