**Terrifying Experience - Unsafe and Discriminatory**
I recently stayed at La Quinta in Las Cruces, with my boyfriend and let me tell you, it was one of the worst experiences of my life. As a trans man, I’ve faced my fair share of discrimination, but this was next-level. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly rude, and it felt like they were eyeing me with suspicion. It wasn’t long before I realized why: they clearly don’t care for LGBTQ people. There were passive-aggressive comments, and they seemed to go out of their way to make me uncomfortable.
The area around the hotel is just plain dangerous. I heard from other guests that homeless people have broken into rooms before, and after hearing noises late at night, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened during my stay. I didn’t feel safe leaving my room, and I certainly didn’t feel safe IN it.
To make matters worse, the staff conducts random room checks like it’s a prison or something. I caught them gossiping about other guests in the lobby, making it pretty clear that privacy and respect aren’t on their list of priorities. The whole vibe was hostile, and I honestly felt intimidated, like I was being watched and judged the entire time.
If you’re queer or trans, or frankly, just want to feel safe and respected, I strongly advise you to steer clear of this place. No one deserves to feel the way I did here.
