Disappointing is the word that best describes this property. We paid $336 per night, and granted this was the start of fall colors, but it was by no stretch peak season and the cost was nearly double what we paid at a beautiful ski resort in Quebec just 2 days later. It would be one thing if it was walkable to St. Albans, but it’s not. It’s next to an interstate and a highschool. The free “breakfast”? Awful. The worst we’ve ever experienced with no protein and not a single piece of fruit or a vegetable in sight. The staff was cooly-friendly, not overly warm or welcoming.
After checking out, we spent the next week traveling to Quebec and Stowe, hiking, and stopping at lovely out-of-the-way restaurants and driving by oodles of equally lovely off-the-beaten path lodging options that, after researching, were about $100 less expensive per night. If you’re going to stay at a place that requires getting in a car anyway to go to restaurants, shopping, etc., I’d recommend skipping the Inn at St. Albans and exploring these other options. This place missed the mark by a lot and we do not recommend. Save your money.
