Unique hotel
We were planning on a room with two beds, one in a loft and the other below as there were 2 couples staying in the room. Turns out it was one queen and two single beds all side by side. Oh well that was fine. Super cool chandelier overhanging the room too The pool wasn't opening until June 1 but we still laid around in the sun, just no swimming and they opened the pool bar for us. There was a wedding at the hotel so the restaurant was closed. We walked for a while and found a soccer (football) field, with a bar so had a couple drinks there and wandered to Aqaba nearby for a great meal. The restaurant at the hotel was pretty highly rated so that was too bad we didn't get to eat there. The wedding welcomed us in and we had a couple bottles of wine with the outdoor party. Overall its a really neat hotel to explore, both inside the hotel itself and the grounds. Its also close to the Florence airport which was hand with us heading there at 5:00AM

Expected value for price
Check in clerk was less than friendly. Hotel was tired looking and in need of renovation and sprucing up of the grounds. Check out clerk was very pleasant. Close to airport and that’s why we chose it. A good value for our needs.

One of the worst hotels we've stayed in
AC didn't work in either of 2 the rooms we reserved, and it was over 100 degrees outside. They moved us to 2 different rooms when we pointed it out. In one room the AC worked better, but it didn't work in ours, they said they didn't have any other rooms. It was miserable! Especially the bathroom, my makeup melted in there. They overcharged us for one of the rooms and then said they didn't know how to fix it, when I asked for a manager she said there wasn't one. We can't seem to get the bill corrected now, even Expedia is trying for us. There was no place to get any food when we got there in the afternoon, not until 7:30PM when the restaurant opened for dinner. They closed the beautiful pool at 7:30 too, we only found that out when we tried to go down there for a swim after dinner and the gate was locked. Also, there was no way to get any coffee before 7:00 in the morning. Since I couldn't sleep I was up early walking around outside where it was cooler and all I wanted was a cup of coffee. All the people at the front desk were so unfriendly, so unhelpful. We originally had reservations at a different hotel (AC Firenze) to begin with but changed it so we would be closer to the airport. BIG mistake! And it cost us 34 Euros to get to the airport, our friends who did stay at the AC Firenze, miles further away, only paid 22 Euros for the airport ride. On the Stanley's website it said they had minibars in every room, and room service, there was neither of those things.

Dissapointed, do not expect a 4 star experience!
Air con out of action so had to leave window open during night and woke up with insect bites. Pool area not for public use due to function during our stay. Bed also gave us terrible back ache during first night and they offered another room with only a slightly better night.

Wonderfull castle and super staff!
I would define telly recommend this wonderful hotel to everyone I know as well as I will definitely come back! The hotel is like a castle - very nice and charming- beautiful style as well as very comfortable. Pool iOS big and clean with comfortable sun beds, perfect pool bar serving snacks, toasts and refreshment. The best of all is STAFF -professional , polite, smiling and very Italian - couldn't think of better place to stay when visiting Firenze!

Lovely old-world atmosphere - if you can find it!
Efficient service, but air conditioning in our room needed improvement. Excellent breakfast, and the minibus shuttle to Florence city centre was very convenient. Beautiful grounds, and so refreshing to have a swimming pool in the hotel garden. Signposting needs urgent attention - there were no direction signs to the hotel in the town of Siesto Florentino - despite what it said in the details supplied with the booking.

Beautiful property
Stunning property, enjoyed our stay! If we didn't have a car, it would have been a lot more difficult to get around, although the bus stop was a 10 min walk away. We enjoyed the serenity of the place and being outside of Florence. Staff were inconsistant... You either got amazing service where the staff couldn't do enough for you, or you had to chase people down just to get a coffee at breakfast. I would definitely recommend Villa Stanley, the gardens were amazing, pool was lovely and the rooms were very good.

Secluded
Beautiful little villa off the beaten path, and away from any overly touristy locations. Cab rides expensive to get anywhere. Well worth the extra euros for the authentic old Italian history. The pool does not open until may-June sometime and only open until September. Don't expect to be lounging by the pool if you travel in the winter months.

Amazing
Best hotel we've ever been to! Beautiful both inside and outside the hotel grounds. Quiet and very relaxing. Mostly old couples but we're only 20 and still thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect if you don't mind catching the train around Tuscany. Only 15 minutes to Florence, 90 minutes to Pisa and 120 minutes to Sienna. Only downside is the price of the restaurant, meaning we had to go into Sesto or Florence to eat every night, but we would have done that anyway. If you're thinking about choosing this hotel don't wait any longer and book it!!!! Also, the Ulivo Rosso restaurant up the hill was absolutely amazing, perfect for a romantic meal with traditional tuscan food and wine. Be careful of the tourist tax you have to pay when checking out though, 1 Euro per person per night per star. (56 Euros for a couple staying 7 nights here)
