Exceptional professional customer service via online when I booked airport pick-up for my manager who stayed at the hotel. My manager and a colleague of mine were in Bangalore for around 24h only but they told me how pleasant stay at the hotel was.
I have stayed at several Shangrila properties but each one the experience is consistent wrt to hospitality, service and amenities

Shangli-la is not one of the best anymore
Horizon club was good. A good room makeup. Very food bedding. Power shortage including elevator stop several times everyday. Very dangerous hotel limo driver for airport pickup. Attitudes of staffs at cafe B and gym are quite bad. Meals at Saffron was too salty and mo change even after complaints for whole dinner course.

Poor service level at Bangalore Shangri-La
Experience is not so good and to some extent, I would say unexpected:
1) Interaction with front desk staff at midnight wasn't expected at this level of hotel. He needs serious grooming & especially on customer interaction & choice of words.
2) On next morning, I left at 9:30AM and around 4:30PM while crossing the hotel during my journey from South to North of the city, I thought of dropping few stuff. But surprisingly found that the room hasn't been serviced. I asked a carpet cleaner, who was then working just outside my room; he responded that I should have informed front desk while leaving. Understood that he is also another untrained member of the team.
3) Though hotel has 6 lifts in the lobby but most of the guests didn't respect the privacy of other members. Lifts were often too crowded and giving a feel of shopping mall or office lifts. Hotel could have deployed a person to manage the crowd. I finally decided to enter a lift with 2 other guests but then 3 more people accommodated themselves! No one had time for another 40-50 seconds. A lapse from hotel management.
4) I had to extend my stay for one more night. Though I completed my formalities in the morning before leaving the hotel at 7:15AM, my access key hadn't been updated. So, I had redo that at 8PM...at a gap of more than 12 hrs after being refused lift access.
5) In continuation of #4; my wifi hadn't been updated. Finally realised that my choice was wrong & decided not to bother any further.
