Yeah, I feel like they could be more upfront about how they do room placements and asking if you need a top or bottom bunk available ahead of time. I am a fem solo traveler that got placed in a room of all men, which was very uncomfortable at first. The room was musty and super small to as well. There’s also one bathroom for 8 people, which worked out fine. There’s no face towels or paper towels in the hostel, so you don’t have anything to dry your hands with after using the restroom, which is wild. I also felt like staff didn’t take my concerns seriously when asking to switch from a top bunk to a bottom bunk due to mobility issues.
