No indication that property was not a proper motel when we booked it. It was a place where people could stay when visiting patients in hospital. The bathroom had many cracked tiles on the wall around the floor. There was mould on the glass shower screen and mould on the ceiling of the bathroom. This is a health issue and given the accommodation was in the Macquarie Hospital grounds, not a good recommendation. There were floodlights on in the carparks and external corridor lights on both sides of the room all night and the blinds did not effectively block out the light. Did not sleep well. On further investigation on the net we found the same room was offered at $108/night instead of the $149 we paid, which was probably closer to what it was worth. Very disappointed and will not be staying there again or using this website for accommodation. Please pass on our comments to the owners as well. Rod and Kay Brightman

I booked this hotel as a one night stopover on a long drive down to Sydney so didnt really research it much before booking but was quite surprised the hotel was located on the local hospital grounds. It was difficult to locate as we were being guided by Google Maps telling us to go into the hospital and we thought we were totally lost as there was no signage that we could see. We persisted though and were relieved to find it. Hotel staff were very kind as we arrived after checkin which they accomodated with no fuss. Room itself is more for those visiting relatives in hospital and not really suitable for holiday makers expecting a resort style stay in Port Macquarie (in my humble opinion). No special views from our room as it overlooked a carpark. Functional, clean and very basic room. Comfy beds, big screen tv and nicely air conditioned. Quiet at night. Hotel does not provide shampoo but provides the usual tea and coffee, biscuits and soap. Overall it was good for our purposes.

Perfect for a short or long stay. As I was working at the hospital the Lodge was affordable and convenient. Clean, quiet and comfortble. Staff were very welcoming. Will stay again. :)

Great half way stopover between Canberra and Brisbane. Simple, no frills accommodation, and a very good price. Contactless check in and out was very easy to use, and very efficient. (Note - this is what I gave the staff a middle range rating - I did not actually see or speak to them at all)
