This was an amazing place to stay for adults. Very quite and cozy with all the amenities we needed.The location was perfect for walking to restaurants. Right across the street from four mile beach too.

Excellent location - full suite of amenitities
Lovely hotel with excellent amenities (including a cafe/restaurant looking over the beach) and excellent location right on 4 Mile Beach - great choice between a pool view or beach view rooms - terrific pool and spa area with full bar service provided (a bonus of being child-free). Our apartment needed some maintenance out on the deck/balcony, otherwise very clean and comfortable.

Great location
The Peninsula is wonderfully located in a quiet spot opposite four mile beach. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, shopping and the marina. The beds are very comfortable!

Comfortable and relaxing.
the room had a great balcony with access to the spa and pool. Well appointed rooms and a functional kitchenette - although a bit on the small side, but well equipped. The hotel is ideally located at the end of Macrossan St and the Esplanade opposite the 4 Mile Beach, and only a short walk to the center of town, the amenities and restaurants. Friendly staff and convenient bar and restaurant facility. Cocktails by the pool, or an early morning stroll along the 4 Mile Beach, you can appreciate this location all day.

Our Stay in Port Douglas
Overall we had an enjoyable holiday although the apartment fell below expectations given the daily rate. It wasn't clear before we paid that the room was not managed by the hotel but owned and administered by a nearby holiday letting agency.
Consequently, although we had access to all hotel facilities we could not charge to our account but instead had to pay as we go.
The room required a re-clean a day after we checked in because it was not up to standard bearing in mind that the daily rate was almost the same as the rest of the similar type rooms in the hotel and which included breakfast. Our rate excluded breakfast.
However the room was comfortable and had very nice beach views.

Not part of the Peninsula Hotel
We thought we were booking for a stay in the Peninsula Apartment Hotel which is fabulous by the way. However, this apartment is privately owned and stayers are not supposed to use the facilities offered by the Peninsula. No free breakfast, no airport transfer, no daily service and no 24 hour reception/support despite the fact that we paid the same price. We feel deliberately misled and whilst this is no fault of the Peninsula (they are also not happy with the situation) we were disappointed with the outcome.
We have booked a number of hotels with Expedia during our 5 week holiday and have not come across this before. I hope you can do something to correct this as, it seems, we are not the only people to have been duped like this.

Excellent Hotel to stay for couples
Great location to beach and easy walk to shops and restaurants.
Hotel was quite. Pool was great.
Hotel everything such as dining -breakfast, lunch and dinner if you did
not want to go anywhere else.

Peninsula Apartments are atrocious! Do not book!
We thought we were booking into an apartment at the Peninsula Boutique Hotel through Expedia. Turns out we had booked a privately owned apartment, which would not have been bad thing if there had been no problems. When we raised a complaint with the hotel reception we were informed that they could do nothing to help us as the owners of Apartment 13 (I was never superstitious before now!) were not on site. We called the number we had been given to find that the apartment owner/manager Simone Ryan was on holiday and a junior member of staff took out message and relayed it to her. Despite not having spoken to us directly Simone sent an email dismissing our complaints and then did not respond to any further attempts to contact her. In fact we have not heard from her since then! We escalated the matter to Expedia who also tried to contact the owners of the apartment but to no avail. 4 days out of our precious holiday wasted trying to get a resolution to the issues. Still not resolved to this date (7 weeks after we stayed there). Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
