I didn’t expect that quality, because it was very budget friendly too, but it was really like a Ryokan. There is also a temple that called Higashihongan-ji, and is famous, moreover it’s only 10 min away from the Kyoto station as you can see the tower.
The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the city bus side of Kyoto Station. We went as a 3-person family and it fit our needs just fine. There aren't too many restaurants near the hotel that are open at night, but if you walk for about 10 or so minutes, you will see a lot of restaurants near the main streets. The bus stop was very close and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe and bar on location which is nice to come back to after a long day. The staff are all conversationally fluent in English. It can be a little difficult to find at first, but I would stay here again if I went back to Kyoto!
Great place, near public transport and bullet train from Tokyo. Only downside was that when we checked into the hotel, we were moved into a different one that was not advertised on here. Not as nice and had an odour to it.
