This hotel is for people who need silence and peaceful moment.
Wonderful historical building and decoration.
the manager is very caring to the guest to explain the history of the hotel.
You can enjoy tranquil moment by swimming pool.
Room is large enough, food is nice.
I really respect the effort for maintenance.
One thing I concerned is ...generally staffs are very kind and nice. Well educated.
As Asian custom goes, they ask me many questions like where I live, what is my job, where I am from.
I told many times I am not Chinese but they don't listen. I think It's better not ask about nationality unless you are very clear of geographic maps. Please remember some Japanese speak English. If I speak English it does not mean I am Chinese. STOP calling me Chinese please.
Other issue is once they know I live in Singapore, some staffs approached me to say
"Will you marry me ? I wanna live in Singapore"
"If you marry me, can you give me visa and work in Singapore ?"
"Give me your email address in Singapore , I want you to give me job"
"I love you, please give me work in Singapore" etc.
I felt honestly little bit scared and offended.
Staffs are not aggressive, but many times I have to tell some particular staffs that they are ruining the reputation of this hotel.
Although the staff who took care of my room was wonderful. Pls do not think all staffs do, just only few.
