If you like cockroaches and bodily fluids on your sheets, this is the place. There was a nice energetic roach in our bathroom floor which ran away when I tried to smack it with a trash can and slipped through the baseboard crack. One of the bed sheets was sporting a yellow stain on it which had us wondering, is it semen, urine, or feces? I guess we’ll never know the mystery of Sleep Inn. The hotel is skillfully decorated in a rustic style, with rusty door hinges, rusty crooked towel hanger, sloppily done “renovations,” ripped towels, and lack of face plates on the outlets, good enough to give your toddler a 120 volt energy boost were he or she to crawl around and stick a finger into the exposed outlet. The hotel rep does inquire about how we loved our stay at check out, through the screen (their front desk rep is a virtual guy from the other end of the world, they don’t have a real front desk person), but when I shared my thoughts, he said “ok.” Ok, I guess. We loved the hotel so much that we will be submitting our thoughts to Florida’s Division of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Hotels and Restaurants Section. Skip the Ritz and head straight to Sleep Inn for an unforgettable experience.
