After-dinner activities in Daegu include romantic lakeside walks, powerful classical performances and nightclubs where partygoers dance until the early hours of the morning. Koreans love to dress for the occasion, so put on your best before heading to the opera or the club.

The city has an affinity for glowing nightscapes and evening illuminations. For a spectacular city view, ride cable cars to the mountaintops to see it all. Whether you’re looking for classical entertainment, an energetic night out or a quiet evening for 2, Daegu has something for all.

Suesong Lake in the south of Daegu is a place for fun and recreation all day and into the evening. The glowing reflection of city lights on the water makes this a great spot for a late-night stroll. From May through October, musical fountains in the lake put on light shows, adding some colour to the evening scenery.

On the west edge of the lake you’ll find Arte Suesong Land, a nostalgic little amusement park with carnival games and an indoor ice rink. The batting cages are a favourite attraction: grab a friend and show off your swing or see how fast you can pitch.

There is always something in bloom at Songhae Park, from the spring cherry blossoms to the muhly grass that turns pink each October. The park is equally lovely to visit in the evenings, when colourful lights illuminate the paths and structures.

It’s a romantic spot: you can admire the sunset over Ogyon-ji Pond or wander hand-in-hand through a tunnel of lights. Wintertime visitors are in for a treat, as the park’s waterfall freezes over into a glittering, frozen spectacle that is illuminated each evening.
