I wish there was a 2 1/2 star choice. Walking from Jamaica Station to the hotel was not a pleasant experience. It is in a very rough area. Even the desk clerk was behind bulletproof glass. If you need to stay a night close to JFK, this place is an inexpensive choice (walking to and from the Air Train in daylight). But, on to the room. Small room, but very bright and clean. You can tell the place isn't that old. Google street view even shows the old building before it was torn down. But wait! No towels in the bathroom. It took 2 calls an hour apart to finally get towels delivered to the room. I put the towels on the towel rack and the rack came off the wall. Someone didn't install it correctly. The refrigerator was placed next to the bed so close that the door would only open a few inches. Who designed this room? We'll, my bright idea was to move the bed over so we could get our drinks and food in. It worked. But, the headboard didn't move with the bed because it was attached to the wall. Who designed this place? Anyway if you have no choice but to spend the night by the Jamaica Station and you want to save a few bucks (Holiday Inn is a little farther down the block at more than double the price), this would be an "OK" choice. The front desk people were nice and polite and apologized for the towel rack when we checked out.
