No working heat in the room. The functionality and décor of the room was circa 1700… sans the fireplace. Luckily we got a space heater on our first night which we were forced to use the entire stay. Not exactly luxury living. Room hasn’t been renovated...perhaps ever? Ripped curtains, disgusting carpet and rickety, bargain-basement furniture. Horrific bed. 4 stars generally has water or coffee in the room. This had neither. The walls were paper thin. And the hotel was teeming w families w little children. Thus, the hotel ambiance had a wonderful, never-ending infusion of crying / screaming toddlers. The ski rental staff rest staff were extremely friendly / pleasant. One of the bellhops (younger) was also extremely friendly/personable. The cleaning staff, however, refused to change sheets. Because you’re a hefty hike from town, you can sometimes be forced to rely on the hotel’s transportation service, which was strongly advocated / encouraged by the front desk upon check in. However, early in our stay, after a long day on the mountain, I called for a pickup and was told they would be there in 5 min. The driver took 70 min to pick me up, leaving me outside in the cold for a painfully long time. To compound issues, they then lied and said they tried to pick me up. 3 times? But when I called the hotel front desk (which I did 7 times while I waited in the cold) they kept reiterating the driver would be there soon - in 5 min or 10 min, then 20 min.
