The room was lovely and the view was spectacular. However, I had messaged the hotel to say that I was arriving on the last ferry which is after reception hours and was told not to worry that someone would be there to check me in. I messaged them particularly because of reviews I had read. Yet when we arrived, reception was dark. We called and knocked for 30 minutes before a bystander took my husband around the back to find the manager. When we got to the room there was no toilet paper and the bathroom was flooded. They were responsive to my call regarding the bathroom. Breakfast Sunday was late in getting started, but we were allowed to check out at noon, which was helpful as we had to go outside the hotel to find breakfast. My husband did love the room, but I am having a hard time getting over the initial negative impression. It is a shame really as it has so much potential.

Sadness becomes the Frangipani It is bittersweet to write this review, as I have a long history with the Frangipani Hotel, dating back 38 years, with my most recent visit approximately 17 years ago. Time moves on, and changes are inevitable, but unfortunately, the Frangi has allowed itself to slip into a state of disrepair. While it remains a beloved gathering spot for locals and tourists, staying at the hotel has become fraught with challenges. During my stay, I encountered daily inconveniences, including no water or hot water, stained bath towels, and noise from music drifting uphill into rooms that offered little respite. Despite raising these concerns with the front office—who were polite and attentive—they provided few solutions, apart from replacing the towels on one occasion. This experience was disheartening for someone who has stayed here many times and once could not imagine staying anywhere else on Bequia. Regrettably, I will choose a different option for my next visit. That said, credit must be given where it is due. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with well-made beds, and the restaurant seems to be their primary focus, offering enjoyable meals. Sadly, the charm and care that once defined the Frangi have faded, leaving loyal guests like me disappointed. The price was far too high, as the room had no fridge,TV or most important no air con. The whole app needed serious upgrading. The mosquitos were a problem. Fly screens would be the answer. It is a very nice property. Unfortunately there was only one sheet and the air was very cold, so I had bad nights, and turning up the temperature was risking mosquito bites. The mosquito net is not appropriate for the size of the bed. The bed needs a good adjustment and it makes a hard sound every time you move or sit down. We understand that the water pressure may be low, but bathing took longer than usual, however it was warm which contrasted with the cold air in that room. Apart from everything, it was very nice, comfortable, with a nice view, we always had little birds by the window and a chicken that walks around the back of the hotel. Christine (I think that is her name), is at the reception, as a waitress, attentive to details, was very kind and helped us find a solution to a problem that we had.

The Frangipani hotel is the most beautiful hotel just on the outskirts of town. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. My room had the best view across the bay, and was always kept clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend!

Great Hotel that has it all . The room 17 and 18 are the best view and comfort . Hôtel restaurant and coffee shop are simply the best , menu is nice and prices are fare . In short, don't stay here if you want to get any sleep or value service in any way, I think this place is an actual scam. The hotel has/operates a bar on premise that stays open very late and blasts music, making it impossible for anyone at the "hotel" to sleep until they finally turn off the music (we're talking 1am ). If you see Google saying the bar "closes" at 10pm, that's not accurate, it stays open much later. I have no idea how this hotel has very many guests given this, basically everyone has to stay up until the bar shuts down/the DJ gets tired, it's literally at the hotel. I feel like the hotel was a complete scam, and have never seen a setup like this before, there's zero sound insulation. Service otherwise was virtually nonexistent, they didn't seem happy to have me check-in, and ghosted me at the front desk for ten minutes with no explanation, then suddenly came back to check me in.
