I checked in late almost midnight. Check in was pretty straight forward. Lady at the counter was very friendly and informative. The room was very tidy exceeded my expectation to be honest. Bathroom was clean but during shower I noticed a huge gunk of hair wound around the bathtub stopper/drainage. I almost puked immediately. That gunk has been there for quite a while. Besides that it was a pleasant stay. I especially loved the personalized “thanks for staying” message on the tv. T’was a nice and sweet touch.

The big problem with the whole experience is that, despite paying the hotel bill through Expedia with my debit card a non-refundable bill for the room days earlier, and having the amount taken immediately out of my chequing account, once I got to the hotel, they took the same amout out of my girlfriend's credit card account, in effect double-billing us for the same room. She is incredibly upset with the hotel. We were not told this would happen at the front desk. They say the bill will be refunded to her credit card account in 2 to 3 business days but she has to wait "and see" if that will happen. That is totally unacceptable and terrible service.

It’s a beautiful hotel confidently situated with easy access in and out. Staff was incredibly helpful and very friendly. We’d stay again next time through Hamilton. The biking in Hamilton has been a real treat. I’ve biked up and down and all around every day.
