Check in, after 9 hours of driving, was kind of a nightmare. Our room was under renovation, and we were given alternative accommodations (3 rooms instead of 1 large suite).
The desk attendant gave explanations, but his directions about how to find our rooms were confusing, vague, and sometimes just plain wrong. We spent close to an hour searching in the wrong places, hauling luggage up and down steep stairs, and re-asking for help multiple times.
A simple map (or QR code for a digital version) would have helped immensely, and the employee would not have had to leave the front desk to walk us to the correct locations.
Other employees we met were much friendlier and helpful. The rooms and facilities were clean, beautiful, and maintained touches of the building's history. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and WOULD stay there again! The only real problem we had was the frustrating check in.
