Gualala Country Inn is a mid priced motel in a high priced area, so it looks like a good deal, but it wasn't very good for actual sleeping.
Pros: The room was clean, and everything was in working order. They provide a full compliment of toiletries, including hair conditioner and body lotion.
Cons: The room didn't support getting a good night's sleep.
The linens were all washed using a HEAVILY scented laundry product. The room was saturated with the fragrance, so that even with all the windows open for a couple of hours, I could not just smell it, but taste it. The bed linens smelled so strong that it woke me repeatedly all night long. It was overwhelming, and clung to my clothes and skin. It was very unpleasant.
There was a lot of light intrusion into the room, so it didn't get very dark. There are lights outside the windows that stay on all night and shine into the room, and the blackout drape wasn't enough to block it out. There were multiple electronics in the room had lights that stayed on all night too.
The mattress was old, bouncy, and uneven.
