Simple with a great location!
This place was simple but clean. The location really can’t be beat. There were minor things, like we didn’t love the barn door on the bathroom as it provides no real privacy but we made it work. There are no bells and whistles to this place but it’s a fantastic location to crash and spend the day at the beach with the perk of a very walkable neighborhood.

Never stay or recommed Pacific view
We arrived to our hotel at 2:50pm we noticed a lady at the customer counter but the door locked and it said out to lunch till 3pm So we went and sat on a bench close by. My dauggters and I really needed to use the restroom so as soon a 3pm hit we ran towards the door. It was still locked so I assumed maybe the other door was the one we needed to go through. Well as soon as I went in the lady looked at me as if I really disturbed her. She said uhhhhh HI .... kind of with a upset tone. She did say welcome or anyhing just starred at us. I asked her if we'd be able to check in early and she said only if your room is ready. She checked on the computer and said no its not ready. I said okay and asked if we can please use the restroom to which she relplied ; no we dont have any you would need to go use the public one available by the beach. There was many homless people camping by the restrooms. Me and my daugters went back to sit on the benches looking to see if we can cancel this room a looking into getting one with atleast parking and more friendly staff. 20 minutes pass and she seen us sitting and said your room is now ready. Once we went to get keys. I wouldn't stay here again. We didnt feel welcomed and when we left it felt awkward. When we were taling our bags down to the car the cleaning lady said YOU LEAVING?

Great stay
Unbeatable location. Some upgrades to bathroom (shower curtain, tiling) are in order but overall it was very comfortable, clean, and easy to check in. We love staying in this area. The bed was VERY comfortable and great water pressure!

Clean but nothing special
The service was wonderful!!! Very nice help at the front desk. VERY Accommodating and helpful and professional. The property is lacking many amenities that help make a stay enjoyable. No parking. No ice machines. No rugs on the cold floors. Hot water takes MANY minutes to come to faucet. Security Lighting in the windows makes it very difficult to sleep. No baggage carts. I would recommend staying ONLY if you want nothing special, but a clean property with very nice people.

Party scene so beware
Great getaway for my husband and I, keep in mind there are young college kids all around so it’s loud. We had a weekend stay and the room next to us had partygoers, which we didn’t mind. They were loud and were drunk but staying in PB we knew what we were getting into. Next time if we want a quiet stay we will go to La Jolla. But room was very nice and clean, perfect for our stay and next to many restaurants.

Perfect Minnesota winter escape
My sister and I loved our stay at Pacific View Inn! It was exactly what we were looking for during our two day stay in San Diego. It was steps away from the beach, and only a few more steps to food, beverage, shopping, and convenience items. The complimentary beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas were a pleasant surprise, and the table and chairs outside of our room offered a sunny warm spot to sit and relax while not on the beach. Esmeralda was helpful and friendly, and I especially loved being asked upon check in if we would need housekeeping service the following morning. We all need to do our part to save the environment, and I appreciate an eco friendly property.

Great location in Pacific Beach!
Very affordable and amazing location. Only stayed one night but we were walking distance to so many things. We bar hopped the best spots in PB and walked the beach the next morning. Will definitely be back again!

Incredible in so many ways!
Our stay was incredible—everything was perfect. This was our first time staying right on the beach, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Sleeping with the windows open, listening to the waves crashing against the harbor, felt like having a "natural sound machine." It was magical. We woke up early, suited up in our wetsuits, and surfed the amazing morning waves—exactly what my son and I needed to unwind after a stressful holiday. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly, and the room was spotless. I loved the minimal furniture and lack of clutter, which gave us plenty of space. It made it easy to unpack and organize our things, especially with all the luggage and two large boards we had from staying elsewhere for the week. Definitely reserve parking—I'm so glad I did. Without it, carrying our stuff blocks away would’ve been a huge hassle since there’s no street parking. As a woman staying with my teenager, I felt very safe and at ease. The staff made sure I felt comfortable with the area before we ventured out. Belmont Park is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel, and it was about $10 each way for an Uber. The area has plenty of restaurants within walking distance, so we were able to grab dinner, ice cream, and a few shirts from a local shop in the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Great location, weak amenities.
The hotel location in PB was excellent, just steps from the beach. However, many basic amenities that one would expect from a mid-range hotel room were absent. For example, the mini-refrigerator was placed directly on the floor and very small and hard to get at. There were no usable drawers and no hanging hooks in room, just a few hangers in a rack. There were no towel racks at all in the bathroom, not even for the hand towel. There was no place for suitcases to be off the floor, despite there being a huge empty space in the rear of the room All of the walls are totally bare of decoration. There was no mirror in main room, just one in the bathroom. There was only one chair for two people. The hallways were loud and much door-banging early in the morning. There was no ice machine for the entire place. Overall, the location and personnel were very nice, but these basic amenities should be provided. Oh, and they have a fee structure for early check-in or late check-out…
