breakfast was a let down
We stayed at the 'sister' hotel next door - the Hilton Garden Inn two years ago.
Comparing between the two, I would say that the room at the Suites was much bigger having a sitting room as well as a kitchen/diner but I did prefer the breakfast at the Garden Inn by far superior.
The breakfast area was way too small for a hotel this size, we often had to sit in the lounge area since it was too full. I saw guests hogging two and three tables just for 3 people. The staff were also hard pressed in trying to refill the trays with food etc.
The selection was very limited and the coffee was undrinkable, way way too watered down and weak.
The worst thing I found was that everyone had to eat from paper plates with plastic forks and knives. The bins were overflowing with waste cutlery and plates plus I found the idea of eating out of paper plates a bit tacky for a hotel of this category.
The staff in general were very pleasant and helpful.
All in all, I would prefer the Garden Inn over Homewood Suites.
