Between the bats and the bands, Austin's weirdness is a point of pride. Sixth Street's legendary music venues showcase tomorrow's stars, while food trucks serve brisket that locals debate with religious fervor. Barton Springs Pool offers natural swimming in the heart of Zilker Park, where dogs outnumber children on sunny afternoons. The nightly exodus of Mexican free-tailed bats from Congress Bridge draws crowds who gasp at the spectacle. Lady Bird Lake's trail fills with joggers who pause for skyline selfies, while South Congress shops sell cowboy boots alongside artisanal chocolates. For the full Austin experience, catch a show at the historic Paramount Theatre or Moody Theater, where even the security staff can spot musical genius.

The Code Hotel
"Two bedroom was superb. Only complaint is the couch was not comfortable."
Hyatt Place Austin Downtown
"Great"
Orangewood Inn & Suites Midtown
"I stayed at 3 different hotels over the course of 11 days and this was the best one! I believe Austin has a major fent problem. I saw a lot of homeless people but this hotel did not have anything like that there. This was when I was out and about the city. I only stayed one night but I loved everything about the room! So very nice! I wouldn’t come back to Austin though. I met so many people in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi and everyone was so nice and beautiful! It was sad to see Austin having that problem. 5 people had OD’d while I was there. I saw it on the news."
Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown
"Great amenities and rooftop bar. Friendly staff."
Hampton Inn by Hilton Austin East Side 5th Street
"It was a nice place to stay in"
Tommie Austin, part of Jdv by Hyatt
"Fun, modern, and charming space with a kind and attentive staff. Loved the bar/pool area. I was traveling solo and enjoyed my stay."

Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in Austin. If you're interested in a more personalized experience, boutique hotels often provide unique accommodations and can sometimes offer good value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average.
