Building
This hotel is extremely old and needs updating desperately and, it is tiny. Every single thing, furniture, carpeting, wall papering, everything is outdated. The wallpaper was peeling in areas both in the room and hallway areas. The carpeting was peeling and had missing parts of the spiral staircase. The shower is about 2’X2’ and I am being generous. I bumped my head multiple times trying to lean down to wash the lower part of my body. The room had no iron, no refrigerator, 25” tv that was only set to French, a small 3-4 drawer chest, large thick, outdated curtains, and I have no idea what the bed was doing. There was no ice machine. You must go down to the front desk to get ice and colas. The bed was lumpy but comfortable. Continental breakfast is offered for 12 bucks for a croissant and coffee. The hotel isn’t close to anything and the metro is 3 blocks away.
Staff
At check in there was a male and female at the front desk. The female spoke no English. The male spoke pretty good English and he completed our check in quickly and smoothly. We were even allowed to check in hours early. All of the staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating. They called our taxis whenever we needed, offered recommendations, etc. Checkout was easier than check in.
Overall
If you’re looking for a cheap moderately okay place to stay just to sleep, change and shower, you’ll be fine here. But if you’re looking for the bells and whistles or any form of modernity, look elsewhere.
