There were 3 Sheriff in lot when we pulled up at 930pm. Seems like sketchy set up with both hotels, people walking/hanging aroynd & people hanging out with room doors open. Not cleaned & not enough towels provided! Breakfast was lacking for sure, but coffee & waffles were good. Beds & pillows were very comfy! I wouldnt recommend or stay again.

Dirty and disgusting
Room was dirty and towels had dark stains on them. We went out and bought our own. No garbage can, television didn’t work, missing cases on the pillows. No coffee maker but stuff to make it. Air conditioner and microwave sounded like they were going to die

Terrible
Chose this hotel for a weekend getaway for my husband and I. It was cheap and as the same goes, You get what you pay for. The card that opens the door wouldn’t work. The coffee pot in the room was broken. The volume button on the TV would not go up or down and I just did not feel safe. In the middle of the night, it kept sounding like there was somebody outside of our door. And when we complain to the manager, he didn’t do anything to try to make it right. So we packed our stuff and went to another hotel, 10 out of 10 I would not recommend!

I tried calling the motel for hours to try and find out what the latest check in could be. Never got ahold of anyone. Upon arriving at the Super 8, there was a sign on the front desk stating due to staffing issues I had to go to the Baymont next door to check in. I live in another state and did not feel comfortable with my two daughters, navigating to another new place. After getting keys we proceeded to enter the Super 8 and were overwhelmed by the smell of what appeared to be human urine, marijuana and strong cigarette smell in the hallways. The room itself was not clean and we found cockroaches in the bathroom as well as on the wall above the microwave. The sheets were dirty on both beds so we slept on top of the blankets but didn't sleep well due to an unidentified smell in the room. Also, the breakfast was not available because of short staffing, but no sign was put out until morning, so we had to find alternate breakfast at an expense we didn't plan for. Another amenity unavailable was the pool. It was clearly unusable with standing algae water, green in color. We could not wait to get out of there and will never stay at a Super 8 or a Baymont again in my life. I will definitely be requesting a refund for this nightmare stay.

The Super 8 is directly behind and butts up to the Baymont. Both are operated by the same owner and no one was available at the Super 8 front desk. instead there was a sign to go to the Baymont front desk because they were short staffed. (i had to go to the Baymont to get breakfast as well.) So the Super 8 is unsupervised and guests can do as they please—like smoking where they aren't allowed. The whole building is posted as "no smoking" allowed, but there was the distinct smoke odor in my room and a couple of brown spots in the tub which looked like cigarette burns. The tub/shower spigot handle was very loose but did work. The window curtain was partially unhooked on one side but too difficult to reattach behind the decorative cover board. I didn't see a room darkening roll down shade. So unless you have something with you, you cannot close the curtains to darken the room. The room was clean, recently renovated, great mattress, and quite nice; the was conpletely opposite to the public areas. However, the bathroom smelled like someone had used it and the toilet bowl still hadn't been flushed well. The coffee maker was missing the tray to put the complimentary coffee pod packet in. The on/off button did not work properly; I had to hold it down with something heavy or else it would pop up to the off setting. The two desk clerks were courteous and competent. The night desk clerk at The Baymont came out quickly and checked me in.

Iowa State Fair visitor
I reached my destination at night. The location was dark and at first looked look like it was closed. Entry to the facility was dark and in need of cleanup and outdoor ground maintenance. The desk had a sign to go next door and check in at the Baymont, so assuming both properties are managed by the same group. The hallway was filthy, with unclean floors. What appeared to be the outdoor pool area was littered and pool not functioning. The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The bathroom needed lightbulbs replaced as some were missing. The bed was adequate, pillows were poor at best. Overall property looked unkempt and very rundown. I did not need a fancy place to stay for the weekend, but was not a very good experience. Would not recommend at all.

Never again. Crooked and nasty.
Showed up to check in. Outside had tipped over flower pots, cigarette buts all over the side walk and dirt sides. Open door and was a sign stating they have no help so to go to the adjacent hotel desk to check in. Cigarette buts on the lobby floor, dirty walls, smelled of pot and cigarettes. Shady people smoking pot outside. I paid for not questions asked canceling and they won’t honor it and we were not risking our lives to stay there so I paid for another hotel and they won’t refund my money even though we never checked in. 100% never recommend.

The property was disgusting. Holes in windows, some windows boarded up. They were renting the hotel out by the week. The hall ways wreaked like pot. Our room had a huge blood stain on the wall. The grass was cut, but looked like it had been only cut once this summer and it was like hay laying on the ground. There was big piles of dog crap in the court yard. The day we got there, there was dog vomit in the entrance that was still there when we left two days later. The pool that looked decent on the pictures, had no water in it. I felt so sorry for the staff, as I am sure they are yelled at every day, several times a day, because of the condition of the place. The one nice thing about the place was that the sheets and towels were nice and clean. Really the place should be shut down, Hands down the biggest dump I have ever stayed at or ever care to stay at.
