I booked a single room through hotels.com. There were two options: a single room with a window or a single room without a window. I booked a room with a window. When I checked in I was given a cellar room without a window. When I returned to the receptionist and told her they had given me the wrong room, she quite rudely responded, “you got the room you booked.” When I insisted that I had booked a room with a window, she demanded to see a receipt. However, despite having two bookable categories on the website, my receipt from hotels.com stated simply “single room.” When I insisted on getting a different room, the receptionist told me they were fully booked, even though the Scandic member who checked in after me was upgraded to a single room with a window. I have never been so poorly treated as a hotel guest. I will never stay here or any other Scandic again unless absolutely necessary. Incredibly poor from hotels.com too.
