Service in the Bar/Restaurant & at Hotel Reception was clumsy & poor with staff not knowing the fundamentals of their role e.g. where to get wine from when Bar stock had run out, how to charge/take payment for items from the Hotel Shop. The only exception was at check out, which was very good.
Stock levels in the bar were poor. The wine I ordered had run out & should’ve been served chilled from the fridge. Instead, it was served warm in a glass that had been put in the fridge & caused a significant delay with service.
Room was good as were the views, but bathroom was tired & in need of an update. Grouting was very dirty & had diminished in areas.
The room balcony needs replacing from a H&S perspective as was very wobbly with thinning wooden deck boards.
Whilst the Spa facilities were good, the ceiling paint in the pool area was peeling & the fur growth on some of the hydrotherapy pool shower heads were off putting.
The exterior of the hotel needs cleaning as was riddled with cobwebs.
The lifts were clunky & in need of a service.
The car park charge was extortionate.
