We recently stayed at this hotel during our vacation, and overall, we had a nice time—but there were a few things worth mentioning. The property itself is beautiful and very well-maintained. It’s conveniently located near the beach, which is a big plus. However, it’s also right by the main road, so the noise from cars and buses can be a bit much, especially at night.
The buffet food was decent, but it got repetitive as it was mostly the same options every day. They do offer alternative restaurants on-site, which you can book, but reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and spots fill up fast. Unfortunately, our experience at La Vista Sushi Shen was not great. The sushi was too spicy for our taste, and everything else—from the miso soup to the fried rice and noodles—was far too salty.
One thing we found a bit uncomfortable was the tipping culture. It seems to be expected everywhere. We always left tips, but we noticed that when others didn’t, staff reactions were noticeably different, which felt awkward.
The nightly shows weren’t very entertaining in our opinion, but that might just come down to personal taste.
Despite these issues, we did enjoy our trip. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, which made a big difference in our stay.
