Good place to stay
Our overall stay was delightful. The location was ideal and within walking distance of many places we were going. We do wish the pool was heated. That was a little bit of a downside. There were some cobwebs on the cupboards and a little bit of black mold in the shower, which was Disappointing. Overall, the space was perfect and when asking for assistance, Sonder was quick to offer it.

Great experience
The 1BR apartment was a great way to experience the area. Lots of space to settle in and a full kitchen was convenient. Location was great - right above a Whole Foods if you wanted to stock the kitchen, and walking distance to ASU and lots of restaurants. Also loved washer/dryer in unit and spacious closet to store everything from our road trip. The building had lots of amenities we didn’t even have time for - lots of lounges for entertaining. The full gym was impressive too - not like typical hotel gyms with just a few machines. And the pool area was top notch, though the pool was a bit cold. Everything was very clean and the unit provided anything you might need to keep it that way if you so chose. Only complaint was a maintenance issue - the outlets in the kitchen didn’t work so we had to move the coffeemaker to a working outlet every morning. Other than that, a perfectly wonderful stay - we’ll be back!!

Place is OK ...but
This "hotel" is not the regular type where you get personalized customer service and greeting personnel at the lobby. This Sonder hotel was strictly by Sonder App communication. We had an issue with our TV that was not connecting to the "Chromecast" app, which is the only method of streaming from your phone/tablet to the TV. It took them almost 2 days to get someone to our unit to "fix" this, but he could not either so by the end of the stay we finally had regular TV channels. Your check-in and check-out are also with the App, charging extra for early/late check-in/check-out. Overall, the place is nice, very modern and has ample rooms with a kitchen and full-size appliances. The living room couch has a sofa bed, and this specific location is at the heart of Tempe Downton and ASU activities, lots of restaurants, bars and shops just within walking distance. The rooms are in tall tower apartments, with Whole Foods store below for all your wines, beers, snacks, and other essentials. If you don’t get bothered to this type of hotel where there is no personal approach and you are willing to deal with the app to read all instructions to park, security, check-in, check-out this is a place for you. For us it was not a pleasant experience and for the price of the rooms they could do much better than what we got.

Loved this location. Having a Whole Foods downstairs from us was a little bit like a dream. We also loved having the bright kitchen and the in-room laundry. The unit we had was a tiny bit cramped because there is a concrete pillar in the bedroom. That caused the bed to be placed in an awkward position that provided narrow passage to the right side of the bed, and on the other side, to the bathroom and master closet. For a short stay, this was tolerable but as a longer term living arrangement, that would be irritating. We loved the TV that allowed us to Chromecast our favorite videos onto the big screen. That provided us a comfortable and pleasant evening and made us happy. On the other hand, we absolutely hate the new style in beds that has the frame extend beyond the edges of the mattress. This is a shin banging hazard, and with the awkward placement of the bed, it had an impact on repeated occasions. For this unit in particular, it might be a good idea to opt for a more traditional style of bed that is less likely to leave bruises. Overall, we loved the room, had a good time, and would recommend the property to a good friend who is planning to stay in the area.

Would not recommend
This place has so much potential. Great location, decent amenities. The abundance of air fresheners makes you wonder what it's hiding. The carpet in the hallways is stained and gives a pretty rough first impression. Communication with staff is through a chat on the app. It took 2 days to get an extra blanket. Our room overlooked university avenue. Fun to watch the traffic, but pretty loud each night. I would save the hassle and put your funds towards a place with a front desk.

Beautiful and new. small, but important, issues
Beautiful property. Clean. Large. Loved the separate room with a desk to work. Great gym. Lovely common areas. But a few issues let it down. 1) No blinds or curtains. Only sun shades. Bring a blindfold (and earplugs for street noise). 2) Very weak shower water pressure. 3) Checkin and checkout are very complex. Multiple codes and fobs. Wrong written instructions at least one time.

Cute place, good neighborhood
The Sonder at Mill ave was a great location! We were visiting for a business meeting and some time away from kids as a couple. The room was small but good for us, unfortunately if your neighbors are loud you will hear it. We had to ask a group of people partying to stop yellowing at 12:30am. The bed was also extremely firm, not comfortable at all. Other than that the place was cute, safe, lots of options around for hiking, scooter rentals, restaurants, etc. the building was safe and the view was lovely! We would stay again just my husband and I. Oh and there is a Whole Foods downstairs which is great!

safety was 10 out of 10! the apartment overall was so nice but the bed was awful and the water temp was luke warm. when i mentioned the water i was told it was during peak hours it wouldnt be hott. the bed was the worst bed ever. should be replaced. its hard as a rock
