We booked this hotel for its location, which was right in the heart of Gdansk old town and the Christmas market. Due to this, it was extremely noisy, particularly at the weekend, with a considerable amount of noise from the bar below until the wee small hours. We had earplugs, and could still hear the street noise but this is not the hotel's fault. Just something to consider when booking.
For us, the hotel had good and bad points. The staff were (largely) lovely - friendly and helpful. Our deluxe room was a decent size and had a seating area, which helped during a 7 night stay. The room was serviced on a daily basis, if required. During our stay, the power went off overnight, resulting in a very cold room the next morning with no facilities for us. Additionally, the water supply went off one day, meaning no bathroom facilities. The staff didn't volunteer information or assistance in either case, which was disappointing. Breakfast, whilst it may suit some, really didn't hit the spot with us. The items we could eat, we felt were of poor quality and the staff seemed very indifferent, so we didn't eat there after the 3rd morning of our stay. There's a Costa across the street. The sofa and carpet in our room were badly stained, and the safe didn't work. You can't deny the location is perfect, however I don't think we'd choose to stay here again, sadly.
