After a vacation to South Padre Island, our flights out of Brownsville were canceled due to weather. We booked 2 rooms here. Of the first rooms they assigned us, one smelled of cigarette smoke, and the other smelled moldy. Front desk staff was friendly and apologetic, quickly assigning new rooms. There was no hot water until very late on our last night, due to an issue with the boiler, and every time we asked about it, we were only told, "They're working on it, and it should be fixed in the next hour." There was no offer of compensation other than a free breakfast, and we heard other guests complain about this, as well - including some work crews who had booked multiple rooms. Nate at the bar was great, but the other bartender was rude and condescending. We were happy to have a roof over our heads, given the circumstances, but that's about all it was.
