Comfortable house but remote location
Pros:
Lovely people. Quiet, secluded natural setting. The house was incredibly spacious and very clean. Comfortable beds, quality bedding and towels. Secure. They've done a nice job with the furnishings. It was cold during our stay, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
Cons:
1. This place really remote, even more so than it appears on the map because the roads in and out are very windy and slow. Travel time is longer than expected. Travel time to Sequoia National Park was a good 45 min and then getting around inside the park requires considerable additional driving.
2. There is 1 bar/restaurant (Pinehurst Lodge) within a one hour drive. You need to come prepared with all your groceries because the nearest grocery is at least 1 hour away. The house is not stocked with any kitchen essentials other than coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper, and DW soap.
3. The house needs more lighting but that should be easy for the management to address.
4. As you can see from the photo, this house is a triple wide modular home - very spacious but dated and worn (kitchen, bathrooms). The appliances all worked but they're old. So, it all depends on what you're looking for and what you're used to.
Overall, our stay was fine. The main downside was location. Next time, we'll probably stay in the park.
