I showed up with my 19-year-old daughter, and it felt very unsafe. Several guests were roaming the halls and were sketchy. They kept gawking at my daughter and we immediately felt nervous about staying overnight there even before we saw the room. When we got to the room we were even more disappointed. The pictures are not what you get in the room. Our room had hair on the beds and bathroom and smelled horrible. The whole hotel smelled like smoke. Needless to say, we did not stay there. We promptly checked out after about ten minutes in the room and went down the street a bit to the Comfort Inn. It was much cleaner and felt safer. However, we were supposed to stay at the Suburban for five nights, and we are still trying to connect with the manager to have the money refunded. He has not returned any of our calls. The rest of the front desk staff has been very understanding and courteous. They do not have the ability to cancel it without management approval.
