Owner cancelled booking whilst we were travelling
We booked the apartment in August 2023 so the family could attend a music event which was local to apartment. On the day of Travel 26th April 2024 the booking was cancelled via email.. No phone call to warn us but an alternative 30+ miles away was offered in the email. Unfortunetly many other people have fallen fowl to this sort of approach due to many hotels being sold out and high prices starting to appear due to both the music event and a Wolves home football game. Many hotels coming back up after cancellation at 5 times the price paid a year in advance... Unfortunatley people were snappy any room up for these inflated prices so a real wining for the hotels but not the customers that lost out. Because of the limit to no hotels left on the day of travel we had to return to Bournemouth from Birmingham and miss the event we were so looking forward to attending... We have been refunded half the apartment price of £174 but have lost out of the £195 tesco voucher which was in addition, £150 on 3 tickets for the event , £150 lost pay for not working on the Friday and the petrol used getting half way to Birmingham.. No sorry or phone call at all just a rather big fight to get just £174 of our money back ... I have to provide evidence i didnt cancel booking as apartment manager quoted to hotels.com the cancellation policey ....which i kindly told hotels.com wasnt my fault but apartment... I have lost £££'s but my son is the victim as he didnt get to see his fav bands :-( shame on u
