The staff was friendly, the fireplace in the room was cool, and the property was dated but clean. But I can't give this hotel more than a 1-star review because of the internet. They promised wi-fi so I booked this hotel as part of a remote work trip. The wi-fi was not functional. The connection didn't work on my phone either, to the point where it would take 20 minutes to load any image that someone would text to me or to look up restaurants/coffee shops to visit. When I asked the front desk person about it, they said it's "just a Santa Barbara problem," but I've never encountered it at another hotel before. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to work remotely, or even just use their phone in their room.
