I checked in early as a Choice member for a 5-day stay on the ground floor and was thrilled with the front desk staff. Breakfast was great all 5 days too. But that’s where the positives ended. I’ve stayed here before, never on the ground floor, and requested “wherever the WiFi works best” since it’s spotty at sub-4-star hotels. It wasn’t up to 2025 standards—video quality dropped to 480p to avoid stuttering, and it often disconnected, requiring the guest WiFi password (actually the RouterOS username). Entering the room, I found a coffee stain on a comforter—I don’t drink coffee. Hooking a laptop to the TV for Netflix, I had to reprogram the universal remote (not the TV’s brand) to use the “INPUT” button since the TV had no controls but power. The desk chair was assembled backward—leaning forward dumped me out instead of reclining back. Four screws could fix it, but I’m a guest, not maintenance. On the ground floor, noise from guests and slamming doors (unadjusted, echoing without carpet) was amplified. Cigarette smoke from the side door and occasional marijuana smells flooded the hallway and rooms. A constant ticking in the bathroom wall—maybe plumbing or electrical—persisted even with the fan and light off. With outdated popcorn walls, this hotel needs updates. I paid too much and won’t stay on the ground floor again.
