Staff were very kind. The Kaiseki dinner was superb. Although we did not use the public bath, the private bath reserved was great and our bodies felt less sore after a long dip.

This hotel is convenient to go to Shoin Shrine on foot, although it is a steep climb from Shoin Shrine to the hotel. They have a shuttle from and to the station. They also provide baggage pick-up from the train station. The staff are very kind and friendly. Food is great.

大箱の従来型の温泉旅館、お風呂は露天風呂を服も数種類の浴槽を備え十分満足できるものだったが、料理が納得がいかない、あわび、和牛、フグと名前だけ高級食材を使えばよいというものではない、刺身の鮮度、肉の硬さ、鮑のハリといった食材の質の決めてとなる部分が全くない、設備もいわゆる高度成長期に建設された大規模旅館というファシリティで改装の余地は多くあると感じた 5万以上支払ったのでコストパフォーマンスは最悪でした

萩は故郷でもあり、母校の同窓会を含めて何度か利用していた。 部屋から萩市内の眺望が抜群。 年齢と共に足腰の動きが悪くなったので、そのへんの配慮あると良い。段差を少なく、ベッドの部屋=洋間の数を増やす、など。 廊下が暗い。 食べ物は量、味ともにちょうど良い。
