I understand Ibusuki might no be the most go tourist destination, and they night not have the attendance they wanted to renovate the hotel which is really outdated... but it seems like the hotel had no maintenance for a long time, it was probably a great hotel 30 years ago, but now it's almost considered a abandoned hotel.
Bath is great though! But the maintenance of the hotel and rooms are needed urgently

Hotel which has Sand Bath service within premisies
This hotel is located at the end of Onsen street. Quite a large ryokan hotel, but I believe it had seen better days. Overall I was ok with this ryokan hotel. What I like most is the sand bath within the hotel, Breakfast were good with satisfactory variety. One odd building design was that the lift is not level with front hotel reception, for hotel guest that had big luggage would need to hand carry either up or down during Check in/out respectively. It also near to the famous Sand Bath outlet in Ibusuki, Saraku, within 5min walking distance & some western & local eatery if visitors did not pre-arrange boarding with the hotel.

Fair Hotel to stay compared with price
We book a Japanese room for 4 persons, including dinner and breakfast. The room is ok and clean. Hotle itself is a little bit old. Our dinner is so so. Food is not very fresh. Buffet breakfast is ok. At this price, I would prefer other hotels.
Sand bath was amazing but the indoor swimming pool is dirty (too much sand). The spa is below average, only has an indoor large bath and no outdoors.

The hotel is very old and the sound of the wind and wave is very noisy which made me hard to sleep at night. The breakfast was really so so, not much to eat. Overall it was not so worthy.

Nice hotel, but a bit tired, worn
Views from lobby, restaurant of water extremely relaxing. Unfortunately my room faced directly out to parking lot. If possible, I would definitely recommend getting a seaside room. The room was spacious with typical tatami mats. The bathroom was dated and bathtub faucets dripped. The hallways were dark and particularly worn. I enjoyed the sand bath and foot bath. This hotel seems to be more geared to Japanese resort travellers but most staff spoke English and were helpful.

great stay
The room was great, Japanese style tatami-matted floors overlooking the Pacific.
The public bath had an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean, too. Wonderful experience.
