Top neighborhoods in Dallas

Downtown Dallas
Downtown Dallas delivers big Texas energy with its gleaming skyscrapers and world-class arts scene. The Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Center sit alongside historic spots like Dealey Plaza and the Old Red Courthouse. After dark, the neighborhood transforms with symphony performances, theater shows, and cocktail bars where suited professionals unwind. Getting around is a breeze with three metro stations connecting you to the wider city. Top hotels cater to business travelers while serving as perfect bases for exploring nearby attractions. When hunger strikes, downtown offers everything from quick lunch spots to upscale steakhouses where Texans take their beef very seriously.

Uptown
Pedestrian-friendly Uptown Dallas offers diverse establishments, from residential towers to nightlife strips. Explore the Gallery Walk Shopping District, visit the Dallas Museum of Art, and enjoy convenient transport options like the free M-Line trolley.

Deep Ellum
Deep Ellum buzzes with live music pouring from historic venues like Trees and The Bomb Factory. Colorful murals splash across brick warehouses while art galleries showcase local talent in this former manufacturing district. Once the cultural center for jazz and blues, this Dallas neighborhood maintains its artistic soul through vibrant nightlife and creative energy that spills onto the streets. The dining scene mixes food trucks with BBQ joints and craft breweries that stay open late. Though lodging options are limited in Deep Ellum itself, the nearby Baylor Station makes exploring easy. The neighborhood's walkable streets connect venues, though parking fills quickly during weekend events.

Dallas Design District
The Dallas Design District serves up cutting-edge creativity in what used to be just boring warehouses. Gallery hop through spots like Kettle Art, gawk at avant-garde furniture showrooms, or catch rotating exhibitions at Dallas Contemporary that'll make your brain do happy somersaults. The Trinity Groves culinary scene offers everything from casual tacos to places fancy enough to impress your pickiest friend. Most galleries keep banker's hours (Tuesday-Saturday), so plan accordingly if you're serious about your art fix. While public transit is limited, parking is surprisingly generous and free. The district feels most alive during gallery walks when the creative energy practically buzzes through those wide, tree-lined streets.

Victory Park
Victory Park pulses with energy on game nights when the American Airlines Center roars with Dallas Mavericks and Stars fans. Between sports events, catch live music at the House of Blues or marvel at modern sculptures dotting sleek plazas. The nearby Perot Museum offers a brain-tingling escape when you need a break from the excitement. Dining options range from upscale steakhouses to craft cocktail lounges with floor-to-ceiling views of the Dallas skyline. The W Dallas anchors the luxury accommodations, while Victory Station provides easy light rail connections to downtown. The district truly shines after dark when LED displays light up the contemporary architecture.

Dallas and related destinations
Beneath the gleaming skyscrapers of downtown, the Sixth Floor Museum chronicles Kennedy's fateful visit with remarkable restraint. The Dallas Arts District packs five venues into nineteen blocks, making it America's largest contiguous arts district. At Klyde Warren Park, food trucks serve everything from tacos to Thai while locals play chess on oversized boards. The Bishop Arts District offers boutiques and restaurants in 1920s storefronts that somehow survived the wrecking ball. Sports fans can catch the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium or the Mavericks at American Airlines Center. The Dallas World Aquarium houses sloths and manatees in a rainforest setting, while Six Flags Over Texas offers roller coasters for thrill-seekers.

Tru by Hilton Dallas Downtown Market Center
"Great service and great location."
Omni Dallas Hotel
"It was good, pool too crowded."
Fairmont Dallas
"Great hotel, large rooms and great staff. Old world style."
The Westin Dallas Park Central
"Room was decent, beds comfy and clean. Some updates could be used in the bathroom and ceiling areas in the room. Looked like water damage which could lead to other issues. Food was decent downstairs but very pricey and the drinks from the bar as well.. not well priced compared to what you get. I’ve had way better in other major cities so not sure why they were $20 for one mixed drink and one 12oz bottled beer $10+. Just saying they could have been more reasonable. Once we found the very reasonable priced hot bar in the shared building it helped make things better but they were only opened during the week. Location didn’t have many options to walk to safely so my daughter and I stayed in and door dashed. Would’ve loved to try more but it seemed to be more about $$$ than us being able to enjoy our travels . We didn’t rent a car for this event but if you do it may be better so you have more options. We were at the hotel for a special event and were kind of locked down to what the note offered itself. Staff were very friendly!"
Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Downtown/Reunion District
"Rooms were clean & inviting. Staff was friendly & helpful. Wonderful stay"
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas I-35 Walnut Hill Ln
"The hotel is fine for the price. A little dated but it had everything it said it had. The pool was closed for 1 night and the exercise room was adequate for a quick 20-30 min workout. My concern was the safety of my car at night and the lighting in the parking are in front of the hotel and the sides. There wasn't enough parking right in front of the hotel so I had to park nearby. The parking area needed more lighting. in the morning, I noticed that there was fresh, broken side window glass on the ground. I had no problem with my car. There are 2 empty and 'For lease' restaurants and ..... It was fine for my 1 night."
Canvas Hotel Dallas
"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was convenient, the property was clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The room was spacious, tidy, and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my visit. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the quick service whenever I needed assistance. The hotel offered a relaxing experience and provided good value for the price. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay."

This duration allows you to explore key landmarks, including impressive skyscrapers, engaging museums, and lively theaters, as well as enjoy the city's renowned live music scene and diverse entertainment options. With such a budget-friendly approach, visitors can truly appreciate Dallas's architectural marvels and sports venues while getting great value for their money.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com users planning a trip to Dallas may discover attractive hotel deals by visiting the Deals section, where discounted hotel options are available. For travelers looking for last-minute offers, the Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window area could provide timely savings near your travel date. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool on the app helps you compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see opportunities to save and book quickly when rooms become available.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in a Dallas hotel. If you're interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels might provide a more personalized experience and occasionally better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit high, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more budget-friendly, helping you potentially find a better option.
- Consider your location: Hotels in the city center usually come with a higher price tag, but thanks to Dallas's excellent public transportation links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel further out that’s still well connected. If you're interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even nearby lesser-known cities, these areas usually tend to offer excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
