I stayed here because of the great reviews - I have to say it was a bit let down. It wasn’t horrible but it was consistent with most super 8s I’ve stayed at - it was fine like a straight 5/6 out of 10. The heat / ac was dusty and felt dirty (no real filter for the air and literal dirt in there) the bed was ok not great … sheets and pillows felt clean and luckily that was my biggest requirement as I was there to sleep. Bathroom I’m not bad. Place had a smell. People seemed to be enjoying the pool and hot tub with their kids I didn’t … this place wasn’t exceptional as the reviews state. It was ok. If I could find a cheaper deal for motel 6 I’d probably go there.

Worst
Traveling with pets, had to pay extra for them which was no problem. The problem had to do with the lengthy pet agreement. No pet poop bags in the pet area. Wasn't allowed to leave pets unattended. So going to dinner at a local restaurant was out of the question. The room had old nasty carpet and could smell the pet urine. Had to wear my shoes in the room at all times. The bed was hard and uncomfortably. The small table was rickety. The staff must have lived on site as they were in the stairwells, hanging out on the benches outside etc. And then theres the empty lot behind the place where some strange guy had his creepy old motorhome parked. I love Fruita and know it well. Staying here to save a few bucks and to believe its rating was better than Laquinta was a terrible decision.

One of the worse ones.
After four night on the road, this was the worse hotel. The room was thilthy!! See pics. Under the microwave had not been cleaned in weeks. Cobwebs in the window. The window ledge had not been cleaned for a long while. The Kleenex cover had black marks, obvious blood on it. Again not cleaned in a long while. We were late and tired when we got in. I had some wipes with me, otherwise would have left. The pipes kept us awake from our bathroom most of the night. Need I go on. Don’t know how this hotel got the 8.2 rating. Cleaning woman’s name was Sheila from the envelope she left. Did not tip as we usually do. Who is supervising the staff. Does management not do checks on rooms once in a while?

Possible bedbugs
The room assigned to me appeared to have evidence of bed bugs with red stains on the mattress. I was able to obtain another room, but I spent a very restless night due to the worry that bed bugs might be rife throughout the hotel. Luckily, I didn't receive any bedbug bites.

Breakfast attendant could use some coaching.
The room was fine, check in was fine as well. The breakfast had no protein other than yogurt, but that's what we expected w/the rate. The attendant in the morning was not very attentive. We asked him to clean a table off for us, and he wiped ours, and not one other of the five dirty tables. From there, he went to unstick a waffle from the waffle iron, and just left the dirty table towel in front of the syrup dispenser. All in all, it was a great place to lay our heads down.

Good value for the price
Primary reason we stayed here was due to the price; it was next to nothing! So based on the price, it was well worth it. With that price comes neglecting certain (minimal) things such as the bathroom fan. It sounded like it was about to explode anytime we turned it on. The worker that helped us check in that night wasn't great. They weren't terrible but it left much to be desired. Maybe smile and say "thank you, have a great stay"? Beds were ok but overall it was a great deal and value. We would stay again. Hopefully get a better checkin worker next time.

Won’t stay here again
We chose to stay here because the reviews were so good. We won’t stay here again. When I opened the door I was hit with strong chemical smell that I think was supposed to be air freshener but was overpowering. It never went away. We asked to change rooms but were not able to. The carpets were stained and gross.Maybe that’s why they used so much air freshener? The beds were rock hard. The good- other than the carpet stains the room was clean. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was standard for this type of hotel, toast, yogurt, instant oatmeal, bananas. Parking was ample.
