I was pleasantly surprised at how nice a place Zanzibar View Hotel was. One of the most beautiful and clean (very clean) boutique hotels I have stayed in. I found out that it was just recently opened, and that’s why no previous reviews. Every one of the hotel staff was very pleasant, from the manager all the way to housekeeping. The restaurant is very well designed and pleasantly decorated. It was clean and inviting, and the food was exceptional. Even though the menu was limited because they just recently opened, the chef did an excellent job in presentation and taste. I have to mention the attention to detail by both waiters, Rashid (Chili) and Mwajuma who made my dining experience memorable. My favorite dinner selection was “mchemsho wa kuku” (boiled chiken), followed by the beef curry.
One item to note: the hotel is right by the beach, but it’s not a swimmable beach. They will hopefully fix it to enable ocean swimming in the future. They do, however, have a really nice swimming pool right next to the ocean.
My flight back to Kenya was departing at 11 pm. The hotel manager, Hassan was very accommodating, and allowed a late checkout that enabled me to stay until 9 pm (for a fee, of course).
I would definitely go back
