4/10 Fair

we booked a room for ourselves and our border collie. Paid the £50 for the 2 nights. Had no bowls/bed or anything. went for breakfast at 0930 and then received a complaint about our dog barking. we met staff on the way back to the room or informed us that we should not be in the room where in. Where the tea making facilities are it is really dark and you can not safely see what you are doing. No facility to eat with you dog where other malmason do. we ate in the restaurant, the salmon did not even come with any vegetables. poor and overpriced. all in all we were disgusted with the standards that we expect from the malmason. staff were fine.

Cold and tired
Really struggled with the heating in the room, so it was cold all night and morning. The room and hotel itself seemed tired, worn carpets, chips in the bath. It could use some investment. Had a couple drinks in the bar, which were very expensive. And all the furniture in the bar was uncomfortable, we tried multiple seats.

Disappointed
Lack of information Wasn’t advised where breakfast was served Wasn’t advised of check out times Considering we paid £235 there wasn’t even a bottle of water in the room At breakfast I drink black tea. Water was tepid and Earl grey tea tasted foul Breakfast was ok but very slow service and no orange juice

Weekend in the Toon.
Parking problematic but excellent receptionist and manager sorted this. Dinner and breakfast scanty - seems to be the trend for all high-end hotels- cost cutting? Best to eat elsewhere? Bridge view room fabulous 💛
