What a beautiful hidden gem this property was. Patrick was so wonderful, he upgraded our stay and was such a pleasure to meet as soon as we drove onto the property. Knickerbocker Estates is so well maintained, has amazing outdoor areas to relax and enjoy with so many fun activities available. This is a beautiful property and is extremely comfortable!

Overall, the experience was great, and the hospitality of the owner was amazing. We can’t wait to go back. The Property has a lot of amenities, which was really fun. The only better experience that we had at our stay was accidentally, the toilet was not clean but apart from that was a terrific experience.

Incredible property. Rooms very nice, nice features on property such as ping pong, pool, air hockey, play ground for kids. I've been in several hotels/cabins in big bear. This was the best by far. Immaculate grounds. Walking distance to village, 4x4 trails and hiking trails. The only place I will be staying at in big bear in the future.

What a find. So sorry we did not bring the whole family. Everything very clean and modern in a rustic setting. The lodge is within a short walk to great restaurants. Oh and we saw an eagle!

I absolutely loved the hospitality. From the moment I pulled up, Patrick greeted me and my dogs. (Super Pet Friendly) He gave us a tour and made us feel welcomed! The property was absolutely beautiful and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. It was not far from the lake and my dogs had multiple hiking spots! Additionally, there were shops and restaurants in walking distance as well. One thing I actually loved was the adult slide they had! I will definitely book again next time I visit. The room was a good size for me and my two big dogs!

We had a wonderful stay in the Carriage Suite at the Knickerbocker Mansion and Estates. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with the perfect mix of historic charm and modern comforts. The property itself is peaceful, quiet, and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Big Bear. A special thank you to Patrick, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. His hospitality made us feel right at home and really added to the overall experience. The location is excellent—close to the Village and Snow Summit, yet secluded enough to feel like a relaxing retreat. We truly enjoyed every part of our stay and would highly recommend the Knickerbocker Mansion to anyone visiting Big Bear. We look forward to coming back!

We had a peaceful, wonderful stay at the Estate House at Knickerbocker Mansion. The property was beautiful and well maintained, and Patrick was responsive, friendly and helpful, especially when we had trouble connecting the TV and needed help with luggage. The bed was comfortable, the wood accents were stunning, and the location was conveniently close to the village. Just note that this house requires climbing stairs, which may be challenging for some guests. We hope return and enjoy their hospitality again in the future.

Our stay at Knickerbocker Mansion was absolutely unforgettable. We came to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday, and it was the perfect setting for such a meaningful occasion. The property felt like a peaceful luxury retreat tucked away in the mountains. The property is stunning — full of historic charm, beautiful modern and industrial details feeling cozy and inviting. It was spotless, comfortable, and ideal for our whole family to gather. We especially loved being able to bring our fur babies along too — finding a place this beautiful that is also genuinely pet-friendly made the experience even more special. We spent time in the lounge area playing billiards, air hockey, and board games, relaxing by multiple fire pits and cozy lounge spaces throughout the grounds, and even enjoyed ping pong while overlooking Big Bear Lake. Some of our favorite memories were BBQing together, soaking in the hot tub under the stars, and watching the sunset from the cabin as the mountains glowed in the evening light. Every moment felt peaceful and memorable. Our host Patrick was absolutely wonderful — welcoming, responsive, and attentive, making everything seamless from start to finish. Knickerbocker Mansion gave us the perfect backdrop to slow down, celebrate, and truly connect as a family. We left feeling refreshed and grateful. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, group retreat, or even to host a wedding, Knicker Mansion exceeds expectations in every way. 12/10 Highly recommend!!

New owners, just opened, working through minor issues, short walk to the Village. I did not see a front desk. Owner greeted me and walked me to my room past two friendly dogs! They bought the property in February and opened recently. Still setting up some landscaping. I have reviewed this stay as a soft-open. Loved my room on the second floor of a standalone four-room cabin. Small, well designed, and well fitted. Every appliance is easy to use. There is a Roku remote control. I am the first person ever to stay in this room! Fun squirrels everywhere. It is built on a hillside with good steps and ramps. The entrance from the road had a steep slope that could be challenging in icy conditions. The owners are working on these issues: 1. The guest portal uses a web portal that did not always work well for me. Could not check in online from my iPhone; my VPN blocked it. I had to use a desktop browser. The portal then gave me the password for the keypad on my door but did not send me my room number. 2. There was not enough bandwidth to stream the Roku free movie that I tried to watch on the TV. 3. Unclear if the historic Mansion (from 1920) was open to guests. It was not clear to me where some attractions were, but the owners will provide signage.
